Our blogs went down for 2 hours today – all six of them:

• EXCELER8ion
• LocalNa8ion
• That’s Wet
• Cute Little Bastards
• A Big Wind
• Julians.name

I can’t tell you why exactly, but it had something to do with too much server demand and a CGI overload (clearly due to our voluminous traffic). After I got done screaming at Julian to pay whatever we needed to pay to get more server space…and he calmly telling me that wasn’t the answer…I sat on the couch and rocked for about 1/2 hour straight.

I made Julian call our dealer.. uh, host – 1and1 – and beg for an answer. They said that they would do some work, try and give us another hit and see if things would be back to normal in about a half hour. 17 minutes into it – I was wide eyed – staring at Julian and yelling:

What are we going to do?

Have we been hacked?

What will prospective clients think if WE don’t have 100% uptime on our blogs?

What will you and I have to talk about now?

When is the last time we backed up all of our content?

I should still have our latest content in my RSS reader right?

TELL ME THAT IT IS GOING TO BE OK OR WE ARE DIVORCING!!!

Yes, this is THE moment when I knew that all those years of telling people, “I just don’t have an addictive personality” – yeah, THAT was a bunch of bullshit.

I am addicted to blogging.
